Things to Consider Before Turning Down an Offer
I am lucky to have gotten an offer for SA 2022 at a top MM (WB/Baird) but was curious what the thought process is before even thinking about turning down an offer. In my case, none of the BBs (where I am a target at) have started recruiting for non-diversity or are just now getting started and would love insight from others who were in my shoes and had to make a tough decision about taking an offer and potentially selling themselves short.
Accept and renege later
Or, use it to accelerate everywhere you can now then accept when you have to.
This. Congrats on WB OP
Definitely trying to expedite processes as of now but am curious if you have any info on reneging. I didn't get this offer through OCR and haven't told anyone about it so what are the chances I get fucked?
Low. Just don’t tell WB what you do
I've had a friend do this before, the advice is just to keep it brief and simple, and don't offer up any additional information.
Do what this person said. Did this myself and have 0 regrets.
