Two stints as DCM SA...now trying to write resume
I've done a couple stints as a DCM summer analyst (at the same bank) and am now preparing for full-time recruiting (I've more or less been offered a FT gig back with my group but my MD also told me to shoot him my resume so he can forward it, with a strong recommendation, to a couple other groups in which I expressed some interest).
I'm just wondering how/what I should be putting on my resume. There were more than a few daily/weekly tasks I would perform, like writing commentaries, sending internal memos and reports and updating/sending pricing (although I wouldn't actually come up with the credit spreads myself). Obviously I did a lot of Excel analysis (mainly data dumps that I would manipulate so that we could create pivot tables that would crunch exactly what we needed to know) and pitchwork, some of which was more than just refreshing charts (i.e. a VP gave me a very broad outline for a pitch and wanted it done for when he got back from vacation). I also created a sales info bluesheet from scratch for a potential new offering (of a completely new product type; however, the client decided to hold off so the transaction never got off the ground), helped prepare a lot of data for our group's business plan which was presented to upper management and did a lot of data work on a specific industry global funding analysis that was sent to many of our clients.
I know that I did a lot of good work and certainly more than I heard some of my friends at other similar groups doing. But if not worded correctly or emphasized properly, I feel like a lot of what I did will sound pretty mindless (in truth, much of it is -- but I was enthusiastic and pretty quick and accurate at it). Does anyone have any advice or sample bullets for me based off what I've written?
