What kind of divisions should I apply to?

Hey guys,

So I'm doing my applications for off-cycle internships, I have to fill out lots of online forms, give all sorts of information.

Concerning a certain bank (GS), I'm applying to their branches in Paris, London and another city (it's mandatory to speak the language of the country, I know french and english so, might pick a US city for my 3rd choice but it would be a bit of a hassle to move to the US for a 6 month internship). What divisions should I apply to? I can chose a maximum of 3 different divisons, some branches offer all of them, some don't.

There's:

-finance
-Investment banking (this one is in Paris)
-Securities
-Merchant banking (this is london, there's 4 sub-divisions: CORPORATE EQUITY AND CORPORATE DEBT, REAL ESTATE EQUITY AND REAL ESTATE DEBT, INFRASTRUCTURE or GENERAL)
-Investment management

and legal but I don't want to do that plus I don't have the qualifications.

I want to be a high baller later in life, I want to do something exciting, where you have to persevere, where you have to be a "shark" to succeed. What division would best suit me?

What do you think?

Cheers guys

Oh man...Too easy.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Guys,

I sense sarcasm in this thread lol

I obviously know that Investment banking is the cream of the crop, but it's only available in the Paris branch. I was more or less asking about the other divisions. For example, they're not offering IB in their london branch so I was just wondering what you guys thought of the other divisions.

Is it because I asked if IB is the best division that you guys are reacting like this? Lol I just wanna be sure

cheers
