I haven’t typically replied to thank you notes from kids who have called me unless they have another question. Totally fine to send another email in a few months when you have an update even if they didn’t reply to your thank you note. And I’ve just kept a personal ranking in my mind of which kids were impressive and which I probably couldn’t put in front of my boss. Just the way it is, you can tell in the first minute of the call if a kid is cracked, a chiller, or fucked.
