Introduction

Good morning all,
I'm new to the WSO forums but have lurked occasionally in the past. I am an active duty Marine, getting ready to transition out of the Corps, looking to become a financial advisor but I am open to other roles in the Finance industry as well. I minored in Finance in College, graduated Summa Cum Laude from a non-target school, and am currently completing CFP coursework to sit for the exam. I am studying for the SIE as well. 
I am currently in the application process for this year's Goldman Sachs Veterans Integration Program (should find out if I was accepted in the next two weeks). I also have a call scheduled this week with a recruiter from UBS and have gotten interest from a few RIAs. I am located in San Antonio and hope to stay in Texas. 
From the forums, I am hoping to learn more about the industry, the cultures at different firms, and gain insight into the recruiting and hiring processes.
