Need Advice! Any help appreciated (data analytics...finance)

First time posting.
Was recently offered a job with modest salary as a data analyst in New York. (The work is particular to pharmaceutical/healthcare marketing w big data).
This is my only job offer (graduating senior from top25 school), but I have another interview.
Could doing a job like this for 1 year (2 at most) be of use if I am considering a future in Finance/Equity?
My concern is that I will become stuck in a very specific field and it will look bad if I leave after only one year, but a job is better than none, right??
(Other options are summer business program (Tuck) and try to find internship/other FT offer..go back to school)
Thanks for any help!!

Did you do Bridge and found it was poor value or simply wouldnt help demonstrate to employer interest in business/finance?

tuck had a panel at my university a little while back, so i had friends who did the program

It’s not that the bridge program isn’t recognized- in fact, I think a lot of people who have done the program wind up breaking into whatever field it is they’re looking to get into

I think that while it’s a fantastic tool for demonstrating interest, and will teach you several key topics,

  • there are other ways you can demonstrate interest
  • it is incredibly expensive and overall not worth the cost

for the same amount of money (if I recall the program was like 10 000), you could take almost 100 financial modeling classes, or found a start up, or use it to travel the world and experience some cool things- all of which sound way more interesting to me than doing the bridge program

the fact is your branding just isn’t going to be very good either, because while the program is recognized, it isn’t a degree of any sort, so it’s not like you can really use the tuck network

furthermore, you’re not going to have access to on campus recruiting because the program takes place over the summer

what I don’t know is whether or not they give you an email account (eg. John.smith@dartmouth .edu) for the duration of the program- this could be a little bit useful for networking purposes

.

take the big data job shouldn't be too hard to break into markets from there- especially since you're from a US top 25, so you should have alumni who you can network with
