Need advice on where to go after graduation
Hi guys, I've been lurking on here for a while now, really love all the high quality content, so I decide to become an active member. I'm a graduating senior from a non-target though legitimate in the south, and on top of that, an international student...
I landed a summer internship with a pretty fast growing company that produce precious metals from automotive waste. Since it's a startup, my responsibilities were very wide, ranging from conducting market research, feasibility study, to hedging commodities. My boss seems to like my work enough and wants to keep me here during the schoolyear and after when I'm done with school.
When I graduate in spring, I'll probably also be able to work as financial analyst at a big IT consulting firm, because I have pretty good relation with the branch MD from doing ECs and the topic has been discussed in our conversation before.
Which one would have better exit opp to break into banking and/or going to b-school? Or should I start applying to banks in hope to break into banking right off graduation? All advice and help appreciated!
Why don't you just apply to the banks? It sounds like at the very least you have some solid backups with your startup internship and the analyst position with the IT consulting firm. This way if you do end up landing a spot at a bank (which I hope you do!) all is well. However, if you don't at least you'll have something to fall back on....something that many graduating seniors from non-targets don't have.
Best of luck
