Non-Traditional Background Looking to get into Fund Management

Hey all,

Joined WSO looking for career advice, and I thought I'd introduce myself with the current situation I'd like your feedback on.

I'm 29 with a background in nonprofits. I have a BA in Religion from Berkeley and a Masters in Religion from Harvard. I'm looking to transition into RE or PE Fund Management (Yes... Very non-traditional background). Any recommendations on how to navigate this transition. Considering an MBA, but would like to hear what people think who have already broken into the field.

Help is much appreciated.
