Advice on career move

Hi All,

I am currently working as a senior associate for a local TMT focus buyout PE in Asia, The firm is neither famous nor well known even in local community. It only has 3-4 individual investor with AUM 600m. Its investment is considered as medium to large scale with average deal size 50m. IRR is 40% for last fund. I am there for half year, before that i am in a financial advisory firm as a consultant for deal structuring, DD and valuation for 5 years.

Currently I got an offer from as a senior analyst form a PE FoF of a multinational Financial Institution. It is within the fortune 100 list. The pay is similar to my current role (i.e. 8% increase) but it has a 20% cap for year-end bonus (currently i expected 4-6 month per year). I just wonder if it would be a good move for my career?

Thanks,
Samson

That depends on your priorities. It sounds like your current firm does direct investments. I would personally not go from there to a FoF. If you are unhappy with your current firm after what sounds like only a few months then you should look for a very similar opportunity at a larger firm.
