B-School Program Based on PE VP / Search Fund Goal
I'm curious how this community views Kellogg (with $) vs. Columbia's MBA programs. The goal is to land a MM PE VP job (non-NYC) after b-school or go the search fund route. I already have multiple years of MM PE (and IB) experience. Socially, I'm assuming CBS would be more fun, but the COL and tuition (assuming no scholarship) would be substantially higher. Also, while CBS has a great reputation and alumni network in the HF space, I've seen many more folks with traditional IB/PE backgrounds attend Kellogg in recent years (leading to an increasingly better reputation/presence, even within NYC/SF funds).
NOTE: I acknowledge HSW are the best programs for PE / search funds but looking to isolate the discussion between Kellogg vs. Columbia.
A lot of the Chicago PE firms I’ve met hire from Kellogg. They don’t hire from Columbia. If you’re in Chicago it’s easier to stay in Chicago.
