I'm curious about this as well, but not restricted to megafunds.. I wonder what's the process like to transfer to a fund in Asia without really having any contacts there.. Basically, how should one go about recruiting for such a position besides networking?

 

best bet if you dont have a pre-existing network is to join a US-firm in the NY office first, and then transfer after a year provided they have an APAC office. mandarin/korean are both highly-valued skills so if you're good with those, thats a strong asset
