Do headhunters reach out to MM IB firms?

I worked closer to the PJ level than Jefferies. Yes, some did reach out, although I'm sure not as many as if you were at a bigger shop.

The lower you go it helps to have an industry focus. E.g. if you’re at the Simmons & co within PJ, you’ll get a call from a MM Oilfield fund.

I worked at a MM and spoke to pretty much all the headhunters - all were inbounds from them or introduced via somebody else from the firm who got an inbound. Got my current job through Glocap, for example.

My firm has used headhunters from time-to-time. When we do, it is quite common we’ll see resumes from middle market banks such as Houlihan Lokey, Baird, Blair, Harris Williams, etc.
