How can I maximize my chances of joining Wharton in a 3,5 year horizon?
I’ll try to be short in my history: I joined a top engineering School in Brazil when I was 16, was the first of my family to attend an elite school, came from a very small state, developed some meaningful leadership experiences during graduation, spent a semester volunteering for an Education NGO, did 2 summers (one in a local business and other in a top Bank), was selected for a highly competitive program for talent development inside the School and I’m currently volunteering at the first and biggest Endowment in my country. I also participated in some highly competitive national business/finance competitions and was a finalist in 2 of them (never winning one, though).
More recently, I joined Bain&Company as an intern when I was 19 (internship program with 1 year as a Research Trainee and 1 year as an Associate Consultant Intern). I chose Bain specifically because of its Private Equity Group. Currently, I’m still an Associated Consultant Intern at the firm, but, if possible, I would like to gain more experience in finance working with IB, PE or Asset Management (for now, I believe Private Equity is my long term goal). Now, at 21, I’m decided I want to go to Wharton but I’m very concerned with my mediocre GPA in school (I’m ranked ~50% within my engineering class) and I would like to know what can I do to compensate this in the next 3 years.
Thanks in advance!
