How to present deals on resume for PE Associate
All,
Hope you are doing well. Currently an associate at an arguably MF, I am currently trying to lateral (or aim for senior associate position) in order to relocate in a different area.
I was wondering how you would describe deal experience on your resume for a PE associate (in case deal close before my departure), or how to describe analyzed deals if our team doesn’t manage to close a deal before I leave (probably by end of the year).
Any advice/input appreciated.
Anonymize the names and any identifying characteristics (ie - if you say “a $182b entertainment deal” then you can only be talking about AOL-Time Warner). Use present tense. And be comfortable with estimates.
Otherwise, treat it just like you would for a completed deal
Understood - thanks for the help. The tasks being almost the same for every deal at this level (putting together model, investment memorandums, conducting due diligence etc.), would you describe it the same way for every deal closed on the resume?
For past deals, I would describe it the same way but just include the actual names/numbers/etc. And I would use the past tense
