Leaving MBB a year before PE offer

I think I am going to get fired from my MBB job (effective end date would be July) due to low utilization and a lack of sponsorship. I have a PE offer for next year and they have told me I have to stay at my firm for it to stand. I have already asked to move it to 2024 but that class is full - realistically what can I do? And if that falls through does anyone have any advice?

One idea - explain your situation and ask if you can do an extended externship. Those jobs are easy to get (you’ll make shit money for a year) and McKinsey will get you off of their payroll beyond maybe health insurance. And they won’t have to officially fire you - esp. if you’re going to a good fund - they don’t want to fuck up the relationship
