Has two investment platforms, a mm credit platform and lmm equity investment platform. For the LMM equity, they do everything from management buyouts, LBOs, growth equity. Some of the analyst for LMM equity start as interns. I have heard the culture is pretty good.
Heard anecdotally that the pay is not great, but they are one of the more reputable BDCs b/c they actually do both debt and equity deal (downmarket version of Ares, or more specifically, Ares' predecessor Allied Capital). Seem to be mostly generalists and will compete in auctions on the equity side. Only competitive for deals with some hair and nuance, but behave well.
Any idea of all-in pay range for senior analyst and associate?
Would be interested to hear this as well.
Like $175-275K depending on title and firm’s share performance. About 1/3rd will be locked up in stock that vests ratably over three years which is a pretty big downside.
Interestingly, a lot of the investment team has a CPA background. Leadership has a lot of ex-Anderson folks actually. Know of some people who are there, no one I'm close to.
Seen them around in a few processes as a middle of the pack bidder bringing unitranche debt and equity by themselves as a differentiator.
