Meeting PE principle

I am meeting a principle from a PE fund through personal connection. Should I dress professionally or semi professional? What kind of questions should I ask and not come off like a ungrateful desperate chump? I am currently an undergrad, and have been waiting on a BB IBD offer. The primary purpose of meeting is to open door for exit op.

Any advice is appreciated

Dress business casual. I am talking slacks (khakis) and a dress shirt. If you are meeting him at a more fancy location then up your dress accordingly. Ask him whatever you want, be personable and friendly. I think at this point it is more about making a connection and getting him to like you. You want to build on something so that you can keep in touch with him and build your network for the exit opportunities later on down the road.

First make sure you know how to spell principal (at least make sure you spell it correctly in any written correspondence with your contact). You might think I'm nitpicking, but small things like that often give an impression of incompetence.

that's quite harsh, for an undergrad

2007Grad:
Principle is the British way of spelling it. "Principal" is the Americanized version.

Oh those Brits. That being said Principal is probably the relevant spelling. Honest mistake by the poster though.

Incorrect. Different words with different meanings.
