Optimizing Profile for HHs

Hi all - Incoming SA @ EB/BB. Since a lot of the buyside recruiting process is HH based, how do you optimize your profile after you’ve selected your bank for FT? Hypothetically, if two people came from the same school went to the same bank, will a HH just pick one randomly? How does it work overall?

If you’re at a decent bank most head hunters will set up an intro meeting and that’s really where they judge you and determine which caliber of funds they are going to put you up for (if any). Initial headhunter meets are basically like first round interviews.

So which banks are MFPE accessible to for example? And will every analyst at those banks at least get an interview with these HHs?

It’s the same like 3-5 HHs that cover all the MFs and they will basically talk to every BB/EB analyst and some folks outside of that too. Only reason you don’t get in front of them is if you don’t respond to their emails.
