PE direct vs. secondaries career choices

Hi folks, I'm a management consultant looking into PE entry level roles and have been talking to a bunch my PE peers coming from IB. They said they work super hard and would rather to work in Secondaries/LPs. I wonder if friends in WSO could give some insights on comparisons for the 2 options for 1) content of work/ day-to-day, 2) skills required/interview, 3) comp and 4) career trajectory/exits.

Thanks a ton!!
