PE > IB possible without an SA?
didnt get a SA 23 and have been looking at people in the industry on LinkedIn and team pages and the overwhelming trend is everyone has done an SA. i know its harder getting a FT without one but i didn't think it was this hard. should i just look at a different career at this point? bc bayside is what i am interested in and alwasy though IB would be part of the process.
Bump
Do you mean IB or PE for fulltime? Your title is confusing, people don't really go PE -> IB
Also, yeah you have kind of missed the boat on IB recruiting but you're acting like you will have no internship at all. Plenty of people intern in corporate banking, valuation, big 4 IB etc and do just fine either FT or lateraling after a year and getting to PE from there
this forum acts like GS IB -> BX PE is the only path but there are plenty of ways to get to the buyside, even if it takes you an extra year of lateraling
Also niche experience such as M&A at a FAANG or other well known companies can translate to a good turnover to buyside as well :)
FAANG/F500 corp dev -> PE is not a common path
not that it can't be done it's just you usually have to go to IB first. not something I would get into if your goal is buyside
