PE Prep in Europe

Hi monkeys,

What are the main ways to prepare for PE recruiting for European monkeys? Are e.g. the Peak Frameworks courses worth it (with them being NA focused)? Other prep providers?

Additionally, as I don't believe there is something like on-cycle recruiting for PE in Europe, at what point in time do analysts usually start recruiting? Do you work with headhunters?

Thanks for any insight!

Recruiting in Europe is super random and is not structured - a lot of variables come into play such as languages. usually a HH will reach out to you and you take it from there

If you want to be proactive, best thing you can do is grab coffee with all the well known HHs for your chosen industry and make a good impression. Approach this coffee as an informal interview (very important to remember). If you make a good impression, they will have you in mind once a role pops up with their clients. Before doing this, you need to know 100% what type of firm you are going to - You cannot go in saying I am interested in HF and PE to the same HH. However, you can say different things to different HHs

All the PE interview courses are good (Peak Frameworks, WSO, WSP etc). To my knowledge, the only course which is specifically aimed at Europe is "www.breakintope.com"

Do one of these courses, practice building 3 statement LBOs from scratch in under 90 minutes with complex rev builds then a small mock IC memo on PPT, know your deals down to the wire while thinking like an investor (avoid thinking like a "banker") and you will be good to go

Just checking if you found more helpful materials? The breakintope course seems to be only ~7h for £190 so not sure if that’s worth it
