Got an offer from Hamilton Lane as an analyst in their secondary practice, $70k/year.
Heard they give the same figure across all strategies.
Is that in Pennsylvania or London? If it is the former then it's not terrible.
Is 70k in PA not bad?
1st yr in T1 (NY/SF), MF size (both GP/LP transactions)
Base - 140, 100% bonus
WLB isn't great, but stellar perks (1st class everywhere, lunch/dinner, no cost healthcare)
Thank you. What hours are we talking about? Lunch and dinner sound nice.
1st year aso or an?
Associate
Can I ask what your background was to get into this group at an MF? Did you come from PCA and Gp/Lp Led experience in IB ?
Nope. Since the industry knowledge is much more niche than buyout, direct experience typically isn't required for these seats.
Can you touch on the WLB part?
Thanks.
That sounds pretty market to me

Expecting 85-90% bonus so ~265k all in
Sheesh… any insights on fund (strategy, size, etc.)?
Switching over to Secondaries from 2 years IB and 2 years MM PE at a reputable shop (~$2bn fund size) and looking for Sr Associate/experience Associate roles. Any insight on what target comp should be?
Also have 4 years of experience and have been interviewing for a few different associate/senior associate roles. TC range at 4 different firms have come in the $225-$300k range. Pretty wide dispersion on base tho, $135-$175k. Smaller firms (+/- $1bn in fund size) are gonna come in at the lower end of the range but have gotten the sense that those firms have great WLB so could be worth the pay cut.
