Just wondering how likely it is to get a PE summer internship is a city like Toronto. I'm heading into my junior (3rd) year and I'm going to start networking with some alumni soon. I was just wondering what I should say if someone says I need to go into IBD before I can go into PE. Should I say, "Yeah I know, I want to do an internship here, go into IBD after graduation and then come back in 2 years" Or do I say I want to go straight to PE?

Haha, sorry. I just think it may come up and I don't really know how to deal with it. Any guy in PE worth his salt will probably tell me to do banking first if I want a job full time. I just want to know how to properly address his concerns.
