Positioning for MF PE
If I am certain I want to do PE at the best place imaginable (KKR, Apollo, Carlyle, etc.) - how can I best position myself to make that goal as likely as possible? This is coming from someone who is currently in a position for this goal to be extremely unlikely. Obviously I can network but I am talking more so about internal stuff I can do. Should I be trying to lateral to a BB IB? If that is not possible/doesn’t work out should I try to get MBA from top 5-10 business school? What are some ways to put yourself on track to one day being a Principal MD Partner at one of these MFs?
First step would likely be to come out of retirement
