Senior in High School

Hello, I just started the application process to college and it’s very clear I want to go into finance. I’ve managed $10,000+ for a while now, and I find it very enjoyable.

My academic stats align with most Target (S-Tier) and Semi-Target schools (think UMich, NYU, UT Austin).

I want to be very ahead of the pack going into college and PE/IB recruiting.

Any advice to stay ahead of the pack?

First year internship opportunities or advice?

Thanks

I'll bite - I was the high schooler googling how to join a hedge fund or become a banker. (No I'm not a neck beard virgin). I ran my parents and immediate families portfolio in high-school and college. Thought I was a genius, but being long tech and throwing in a couple dividend/value plays is far away from idea generation at a fund.

If you're already on this site, you're on the right path. Anything finance related (PWM, local IB boutique will be more than enough. Getting into the relevant IB/investing clubs along w a good gpa is a necessity

NYU is not a semi-target lol...they put more ppl into FO finance than almost any school in the world less 3 or so. This is a fact.

Signed someone who didn't go there but is involved in IBD recruiting process at my bank.
