Singapore Intern

Hey guys

Looking into possibly doing a Singapore PE internship next year (giving myself a whole year to set it up), summer after my sophomore year. Any advice with networking? cold calling? any idea on pay? S'pore is expensive, and I want to know what I should expect for my intern-work (something slightly more than peanuts I presume ha). I want the job, no complaints.

-non target Boston school (there are only 2 -_-)

-did 2 IB internships in high school (yes, actual work, though obviously no where near as rigorous as BB interns), 1 major prop desk internship this summer ($50 billion) with lots of work, learned a lot

-Speak Gulf Arabic (the only important one haha) and Bahasa Indonesia with native fluency. Beginning what I think is going to be an 8 year or so path into mandarin fluency (just thought I'd bring it up), obviously wont mention it in the interview lest they continue in mandarin lol. Rooming with 2 chinese friends (putonghua) and a intermediate-level mandarin learner next year, this is definitely going to help my weekend mandarin classes ha.

I'm not expecting to be thrown at an lbo model anytime soon, but EM and PE exposure is what I want. I've tried IB, prop trading and loved them both, and now I want to see PE.

Family connections are there, but dont want to use them now. Would leave that to either FT or an even better one after grad school (in the decks).

Thanks!

I want exposure to Asia. There's opportunity everywhere I look, and I have a physical connection to the place (immediate family living in SE Asia, hard grinders who made it from nothing). Asia is where I want to be.

Greed is Good.

Hey Jec

That would be amazing. Thanks. Any input on how it is? Loving it, hating it? How's PE in Asia?

Greed is Good.
