Thoughts on General Atlantic
I'm curious what people have heard about the growth equity Analyst program at GA regarding Hours, Comp, Culture. Also, possible comparison of their analyst program vs. that at a MF buyout shop, types of character that would go to each, and what a career path down either road might look like.
Thanks!
Hey jo1421, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
You're welcome.

I know a guy who was in a unique situation. During college, he was investing his friend's trust fund out in non-targetville USA. GA recruited him to an assoicate role within their software space. Since then, he's raised his own fund. I think he stayed at GA for 1.5 years. Safe to say he's brilliant...

Solid shop with a phenomenal track record.
Any other thoughts?

Know two analysts there and it's just sourcing sourcing sourcing.
What is the Associate role?
Analyst program as with most growth equity is 100% sourcing, but top shop especially for track record. If you hate sourcing don’t go there, do tech banking M&A and then go there for associate.
What's the Associate role like? E.g., what % sourcing, what % execution?

Curious to learn more about General Atlantic's analyst program, knowing that it is pretty sourcing-heavy.
