Top Growth Firms Associate Comp?

Current analyst at EB looking to move to growth (skipped on cycle). What is associate comp looking like at iconiq, GA, insight, IVP like firms? If I do A2A the comp is really good so trying to see how much of a paycut I’ll be taking

This isn’t relevant but have been wondering for a while — does IVP fall into the same bucket as the other firms you mentioned as “top” growth?

Insight is usually known to pay top of street (have a few friends that went through their analyst/associate programs). Places like JMI and Spectrum are a bit below IB street pay.

Got it got it, I’m going to gun pretty hard for GA insight since my group has sent ppl there before and college has good amount of alumni in both and I heard comp was mid 300s but didn’t rly know. Thanks for info

Seems low compared to mf buyout no? Would have thought Insight or GA would be closer to 400?

Quick question on the carry - by per annum, do you mean you get $100K in Y1 (potentially vested over a few years) and another $100K or above in Y2? That sounds to me like TC is 400K+ though subject to vesting.

When would they pay out the carry in these cases? Would it be like after a liquidation event similar to senior’s carry or on a regular basis given they are pretty small amounts?

Aside from the crossovers, I've heard that Insight, IVP, BOND, and GA are the top-paying firms in growth. I'm sure I'm missing some but this is just based on what I've heard. Also, for the commenter who asked IVP is most definitely in that same tier of shops, but they are more of a late-stage VC firm rather than a growth firm (there's some overlap but the mandates are fundamentally different). Also, I would say BOND falls into the same category as IVP. Both are very, very elite though.

I would say that Bond, IVP, Meritech, and ICONIQ are the 4 best “true venture growth” players. These are funds whose bread and butter is truly venture growth and 90%+ of their deals are in that category so not including multistage VC or funds that do majority growth buyouts.

This being said, I would likely put Insight and GA in a different category just given how expensive their mandate is. Obviously just a slight differentiation, all the firms named here are amazing and can’t go wrong as the poster above said.
