Vista/SLP vs. PJT/EVR

I was fortunate enough to receive summer analyst offers from 2 of the firms in the title. The Vista/SLP offer is PE non-NYC (Austin/Menlo Park) and the PJT/EVR is for NYC. Wondering which would provide the best array of opportunities?

Planning to stay in finance for my entire career if that helps.

SLP and Vista are top notch exits from any banking group. If the geography is a reservation just suck it up for a couple years, you may enjoy the new experience and you wouldn’t do too much in nyc if you’re in banking anyway. Absolutely take either of those and don’t look back, especially if you are interested in tech / software.

 

2 years head start experience in PE at Vista/SLP trumpd 2 yrs in crappy banking imo. You can always jump somewhere else after those 2 years and you’ll be better positioned than others coming out of banking. 

 

What's wrong with Austin? (Not debating, just wanna know your thoughts) 

 

Heard SLP is a total sweatshop at the Analyst level, would try to talk to current junior employees if you can before making a decision

 

Even at the associate level, its completely brutal. Friend of mine quit as a senior associate because it was just unbearable, I'm talking 90 - 100 hours weekly.
