Brokerage career path
Remain with established and successful team that is stacked with brokers, or go to another established firm with less of a local presence and build a team from scratch in my markets? Less clear opportunity/runway at current firm because team is so large but risk in moving and starting something new
If you're successful now with your current team and name recognition of the group the only reason to leave would be a better split of commissions. If the splits at your current team are at a good level, then not too much incentive to leave besides being able to say you have your own team right?
Good point. I am mostly thinking about progression of my career and the path forward. My current team doesn’t seem to provide much opportunity for growth in that regard.
Do you generate your own business? I don’t know the dynamics of your team. But in brokerage, if you can generate your own business, your team will / should allow you to move up because you are adding to their pie.
Executing business for a successful team can be a very lucrative, however I think people who don’t make the jump to production quickly tend to regret it as they get bolder and are more tied down with responsibilities.
I wouldn't want to be brokerage in these markets, just sayin
