Family Office Internship vs Modeling courses
Hey guys,
I know the subject title may make me seem like a complete idiot but listen:
I already have extensive internship experience in sales/sales trading in equities/equity derivatives/ecm at a BB and a very well regarded boutique so my resume isnt a complete disaster.
Looking to secure a summer internship at a BB in investment banking (preferably REIB) next summer but dont have any solid modeling experience so far although i would say that i am very comfortable with excel.
Now I have a month left until university starts again and I have been offered a 1 month internship with a reputable 5 bln family office that invests primarily in public consumer companies (were talking stakes of up to 25%) but also does some private equity transactions along with real estate projects.
There is not a guarantee that I will have the opportunity to work on real estate deals since its a very informal internship.
Would I be better off taking the Wall Street Prep Premium Modeling course and the BIWS Real Estate and REIT modeling course on top of that?
Many thanks in advance
The BIWS course should suffice.
thanks, just watched the demo video. seems to be very thorough.
I'd do both, 1 month isn't much but its still a good spot on your resume
Family office if you have to choose one. You never know when those connections could help. 10 years down the road they might be able to seed a hedge fund strategy for you.
