IB RE -> Corp PE?

I’m an analyst in the RE team at a BB in London. I like my team and am getting great exposure with a steep learning curve, but I’m wondering if Real Estate is enough of a passion for me to focus my career exclusively on this sector.

I am planning on staying at my BB for at least 2-3 years, but am wondering how easy a switch to corporate PE would be after that. For context, I have spoken to several recruiters, and it seems that from my team I could get looks from MF REPE, however I was told that when it comes to other PE strategies, MM or even LMM would be the highest of feelings.

Secondly, also considering moving back to continental Europe after a few years in the city and was wondering how the PE market in Europe looks at RE IB kids from london’s BBs.
