Oxford Properties

Couldn't find much info on this firm. Heard they are quite prestigious, at least here in Canada. What does comp look like for junior investment roles at the Toronto office? I believe its above market, would be nice to see the ballpark. Also how's the WLB and culture?

Since Oxford is the RE arm of OMERS (pension), does it have carry at senior levels or no?

Might not be totally accurate for comp but I imagine 75-85k all-in for Analysts which is similar to what other pensions pay, at least for new grads. There will be some long work days (~12 hours, maybe more) but not sure how frequent that is. Culture is solid, everyone I've spoken with is really nice and chill, it's a close-knit team.

Appreciate the intel. I thought comp would be at least around 100k all-in given their IB-like culture someone mentioned. Could you comment on the comp progression? and do you know where the people at Oxford usually exit to?

All the big Pension Players in Canada (Oxford, Cadilac, CPPIB, QuadReal, etc.) have extremely structured comp at the Analyst level and all are around the same give or minus $5k here and there. For Analyst 1 you're probably at $70-$75k + 20% then add in between $5-$10k every year and maybe 5% bump in bonus.

As I said I might not be accurate for comp, but I think 100k is a bit too much for an Analyst in Canada unless you have experience. There have been some recent Canada comp threads and most people mentioned 60-85k being the norm for Analysts. I think Oxford would be on the higher end.

I don't know anything about comp progression. For exits people usually leave to other real estate companies. RE is pretty niche so generally people will stay within RE once they're in.

I'll chime in. Oxford pays their analysts really well, especially compared to the rest of the industry in Canada.

I think pay is $75k-$90k base with a bonus of 20%-40%. All-in definitely over 6 figures.
