W&D Final Interview - Underwriting Analyst

Just wrapped up my final interview with Walker Dunlop yesterday afternoon in NYC. I felt very confident going into the final round as the previous interviews went extremely well with individuals in higher positions then the final interviewer, however the vibe in this final round was a bit off.

The interviewer spent 30 mins out of the 1 hour just talking about his career and how he got to where he is. He asked some pretty simple technical questions even though it’s an entry role which I answered. No behavioral questions were asked what’s so ever and I finished up with about 3 different questions (also asked questions throughout the interview). He ended the interview with a final question asking if I would prefer working at home vs in the office.

Overall, I’m not sure about my chances as I didn’t feel any negative signs throughout the interview, however it didin’t really feel positive either as the interviewer didn’t really try to connect or sort of “shoot the shit” but kept it professional (besides cursing a bit lol).

Does anyone know how long I should wait for an answer to follow up before moving on? It seemed like a strange process considering how fast it went, however it was noted that I was one of the first candidates to interview.

Doesn't sound that bad to be honest - the guy may have just been tired or not a very engaging person.

I would always follow up with a thank you note within 48 hours, and in the note inquire about next steps in the process. In terms of moving on - do you have other offers you are considering?

Overall It didn't feel too bad but it could’ve been his personality. No other offers on the table thus far so I was well prepped for this interview but the questions I was expecting weren’t even asked lol.

Hoping I hear back soon as I sent a thank you letter last night but fingers crossed.
