2 Internships Freshman Year...Resume Advice

Hey guys,

I'm a rising sophomore at a target school, and I'm currently doing two internships this summer. One is remotely at a MM Asian investment bank, where I'm mostly doing grunt work, but the other one is a NYC boutique where I'm currently working on a SPAC M&A deal. I have the MM Asian bank on my resume, but I want to add the NYC boutique as well because I feel like it would be very helpful to show legitimate transaction experience. However, I've seen others on this site say that it's a bad idea to put two internships in the same summer on my resume. How do I go about showing both of these roles on my resume without making anyone reviewing it think that I was half-assing two jobs (I'm working full time for both, it's hard but I'm making it work)?

first of all good shit for getting to it early. 2 ib specific internships in ur freshman yr is sick. and if ur making it work outputting quality work and getting good reviews then why downplay the hustle that ur putting in? just put em down and know your story for future roles.

Idk but if I saw two banking internships in the same summer, id assume both were pretty bullshit no matter what you said. Overall, still a positive over having nothing though, especially for freshman summer

Yeah the asian bank’s much bigger and has more worldwide locations. But I’m doing mostly grunt work as of now and I don’t have any transaction experience on my resume, which is why I wanted to add the NY one if we close this deal

I’d recommend just putting both on then. Being able to talk about live deal experience in interviews is a big plus. I’d say either split the dates or limit the description for the NYC one to only a couple bullets on the one deal. That way you can say “I initially signed on at the Asian bank because it’s a reputable company, but I decided I had time to pick up the NYC one as well. It offered hands on deal experience…” Pretty much just emphasize how much you learned at the NYC gig and make it clear that you took both roles seriously. I would try to avoid talking too much about your actual work at the Asian one unless prompted. Can’t see how anyone could seriously hold working 80hr weeks as a freshman against you as long as your resume presents both jobs well.
