I am just speaking from general experience, has nothing to do with those two particular schools. The GPA is only one factor, but based on what I've seen while the GPA may be lower on some of the resumes from the top schools, they are usually more active and have shown a more narrow interest (as evidence from their prior experiences) in the job they are applying for. My apologies if I offended anyone with that statement, it was not intentional but just giving an opinion based on what I've seen. I am not one to sugar coat things. Yes, I came from a non-target school. But I've also hired those from non-targets, so I am not saying they cannot be hired.

 

Yeah, It is if you are not best or even if you are it matters you must always have GPA above some criteria, but if you are really good at something and you know that you can prove the world that you are best, then your GPA is just other number for you.
