Would working as compliance intern help my CV?

Hi everyone,

I know the job market right now is pretty shitty so I'm looking for all the internship options right now. Stumbled upon this compliance intern at one of the Chinese banks and was wondering if this can help me break into BB's graduate positions for either IBD or AMPB. (I'm based in Hong Kong).

Any advice is appreciated.

Lmao I see! Tbh I'm not really in a position to choose but good to know anyway! Just wondering btw Big4 and compliance/risk/treasury/etc, which one would you choose?

If you’re really set into IB, I’d do B4 audit -> TAS (advisory) -> IB (most likely MM but you can lateral to BB later on)

Thank you! That's an incredibly helpful advice. What about for S&T? Which path would be better?

Not too sure about S&T but if I were you I’d take a good look at what you want to do long-term, weigh in the pros and cons, etc. Though IB / S&T are both important functions in banks, they have very different skillsets.
