Advice on st. gallen(hsg)
Hello WSO, i was just looking for opinions on university of st. gallen, bachelors programmes in specific,my background is: HS senior, born and brought up in UAE(indian) and to keep costs low i'm looking at university of saint gallen for the bachelors programmes in business or economics, i can read arabic pretty well but dont understand it tbh(this can be worked upon and i can reach fluency in arabic). In the 3 years there im also fairly confident of bringing my german to c1.
My questions are(mainly from the point of IB/consulting recruiting):
1)how exactly does the job market look for non-eu nationals(ive seen a lot of contradicting opinions on this, there was a thread but its about 8 years old now, basically what some have to say is even if you have near perfect german, adapt to the culture and interview well, no companies will consider you because they dont sponsor visas, on the other hand some people say a lot of companies do sponsor and some positions dont require german as well,im really confused about this,if someone actually works in the region/has studied in st. gallen can touch on this it would be incredibly helpful.Basically will companies be willing to consider me if im one of the better candidates on campus?
2)How good is recruitment for london and UAE out of bachelor programmes?
3)i've seen some people go as far as to say its the harvard of the german world, how would job rospects look like in the german market?im not an eu national but migrating to germany dosent look to hard as of now?
4)the least important one, aside from cost hows the life there, heard contrdicting opinions on this,st gallen is a bit of a village so is the campus life fun?heard academics arent super hard, making friends, dating etc.?
If anyone can take out the time to answer any of these questions it would be incredibly helpful.
Bump!

I can't really answer this as I have a citizenship. However, I think it might be harder for you as a non EU-National to be honest (I'd check with non eu-nationals first though, maybe over linkedin)
Can't talk on UAE, but recruitment for London is good. As It's a target school, you will land a role in London if you're good enough (from personal experience).
This is true for the DACH countries. A HSG diploma is even more admired in Germany than in Switzerland so you should surely find a role in Germany.
Yes, St. Gallen isn't a huge city by any means, but if you're a student there's enough to do (Parties, Student Clubs, Sports etc.). Depends on who you ask, but I'd say the academics are harder than at many other universities. Making friends, dating etc. is entirely up to you. It might be a bit harder as the swiss tend to be a bit more reserved, but if you join clubs etc. it's not that hard.
thank you so much for your response
from what ive seen on linkedin a lot of people have to come back to my home country so i presume they dont get jobs, also if you have the time could you speak more about london recruiting as to how many people are hired vs how many people truly want these jobs, a rough estimate would help, also obviously you dont deal with immigration but being a non eu citizen will i be able to recruit for german positions?any input would be helpful
