Cass MSc Finance vs Villanova MSF
Which would be the best for me considering i get acceptance to both...
I am looking into going into MM investment banking, but given these two schools I think I may have a better shot with Asset Management (lvl II CFA, hopefully I can pass III by the time I graduate.)
I have two previous finance internships in corporate finance healthcare.
I would like to be in the UK over NY but I am worried about job prospects in London at the moment. I hear its pretty rough and I think NY may be easier. I would hate to spend 40-50k and not be able to find a job to pay off the student loans.
I know this forum has some knowledgable people and your insight is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I left out an important piece. I am canadian/american. I can use the Youth mobility scheme for a work permit after graduation in the UK, so Visa is only a minor issue if at all.
Fellow canuck here living in London. Are your stats good enough for LSE, LBS, Offord or Cambridge? CASS is a great school with a great building and the courses are very practical so they prepare you to hit the ground running, however the school lacks the brand name of LSE/LBS. Given the cost of the CASS courses and the tough job market I would want to be certain of post graduation prospects.
In the UK reputation means everything. An art history graduate from Oxford has a better chance of landing an IB role over a finance student from a middle of the road university. I would look into the following UK schools before you decide:
1) Oxford: MSc Financial Economics 2) Cambridge: MF Finance 3) Imperial University: MSc Finance 4) LSE: MSc Finance 5) LBS: MSc Finance

I agree with the above - cass doesn't have the reputation to easily allow you to land a job. Out of the ones listed, LSE and LBS are your best choices.
thanks for the input. I pretty much already understand the rankings and have put in applications to LSE LBS Warwick and IC but i am now a little worried about my competitiveness at these schools. I am now racking my brain trying to figure out a back up plan if i don't get accepted to any of these schools. If it comes down to Villanova and Cass, I'm not sure what to do and want to get a feel between these two schools and UK vs US hiring for graduates from these two schools, since that is the biggest factor.
so from the first reply... should i take it as 'Cass isn't even worth attending?'
if you have internship experience cass will not hinder
Agree with LDNBNKR. I know a guy from Cass with 2 yrs trading assistant experience and was getting interviews at all sorts of HF's and PE firms... He's a smart, cool dude but not a genius by any means.
