Columbia Business School MSAFA program reputation on the street
I was recently accepted into CBS's MS in Accounting and Fundamental Analysis (MSAFA) program for fall '24. It's a great program on paper thanks to very competitive class size (~40) and combines accounting PhD and MBA coursework. However, since US sell-side FO recruiting takes place almost exclusively at undergrad and MBA (and summer '25 at BBs pretty much already wrapped atp), I am concerned with the program's career prospects in the US (I am a foreigner).
Hence I am wondering how the MSAFA program is generally perceived on Wall Street. Specifically, potential prospect in equity research / LO equity fund roles, and whether AM/HF shops that recruit at CBS for MBAs would give any consideration for MSAFA candidates given the program's strong emphasis on value investing.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
