Corona is giving me the shaft

To make a long story short in no way in hell am I paying 50K for virtual classes for a target (uva/um) so instead im taking the pleab route and going to community college
How could having a CC on my resume look/affect me when tryna bag an internship at a boutique or hell even a bulge considering the whole world being a shitstorm?
Does going to a community college before transferring to a top school make you worth less in the job market?

Seen a few do it. The biggest disadvantage is the lack of networking opportunities with alumni your first or second year.

Echo the above comments. As long as you make the right steps before you apply for internships and switch to your target next year or the year later, no one is going to care. You don't even have to worry that much about networking because of OCR.

With only a community college degree, you're not getting into banking. Now if you transferred to a target after doing that, then maybe I'd give you some more bang for your buck!

Will update my computer soon and leave Incognito so I will disappear forever. How did I achieve Neanderthal by trolling? Some people are after me so need to close account for safety.

Did you get into a top school and are deciding not to go? Or are you saying you are going to CC and didn’t apply (or get in) to top schools but wouldn’t pay for it even if you did? It wasn’t clear from your wording (seemed to imply you got in, but confirming)

If you are giving up a spot then just know you are taking a risk. If you feel like you have a very strong application, are going to get great grades this semester, and have looked at the transfer acceptance rates at the schools you are interested in, and still feel comfortable then that is fine. Very few places (if any) will judge you because you went to CC then to a top school.

What I don’t know is how transfers (and applications) will look next year. There is a chance that people are deferring admissions, that others are taking your route, etc so I would check to see if someone from admissions at the school can help (maybe they can give you info on amount deferred, or something similar).

It would be terrible to give up the spot and then deal with a hyper competitive year where you don’t get in. Again, not know the school or the transfer policy, so if that isn’t an issue then that is one risk off the table.

I got in thru general admission but the CC also has a guaranteed admission agreement with the school so im in the clear

seems risky. giving up a target because you think you’ll get in as a transfer? From CC this’ll probably be even harder, as most successful transfers are from other top schools. if you truly believe that you can transfer with a compelling story sure save the money, but imo it’s a bit of a risk.
