Curious about the Reputation of Michigan State University (MSU)

Hey all, I've been lurking on WSO for a bit and noticed that my current institution (Michigan State) isn't talked about much despite having a student population of well over 40,000 and a decent reputation. I searched the forum and most the discussion that has taken place is almost ten years old, so I'm looking to get some input that's more up to date.

I'm fully aware that Michigan State is nontarget, but I'm surprised I barely see it talked about online in regards to placement in high finance when it has a large alumni base and Broad (the business school) is ranked #23 by USNews. I suspect that much of this is due to the fact that the other state university in Michigan is UofM, but I feel there's more to the discussion.

Anecdotally, I've seen many kids in the business college end up with jobs at MM and boutique (not elite) banks, and a handful of people even get jobs from BB's through our schools high finance placement program (Financial Markets Institute).

I'm curious to hear what insight others might have about MSU's reputation and placement in high finance in recent years, as I can't find much online. As I said earlier, the school is obviously a nontarget but not all nontargets are created equal and Broad's reputation appears to have been improving in recent years.
