Emory Pre housing crash

Am starting to apply to colleges and have a good list of targets, semi targets, and safety schools I am applying to. Have seen some interesting/weird things specifically abt Emory. It seems they had a large presence at a lot of banks before the 08 housing crash and their US News national ranking was very high (for both the uni and undergrad biz). Even tho their IB presence is ramping up again does anyone have any info as to why their rankings and presence took such a massive hit after the housing crash?

Any scandals or changes at the school? Why did ranking/presence take a massive hit and now turning around?
