Good MFE still possible?

I got a B in Dif Eq. My class was not curved (no quotas) so although I was top 5 or so in a class of 30, I still got a B. The test used ridiculous problems that you were expected to do in your head. Can I explain this in my app without sounding like I'm a whiner?

I am doing engineering so pretty much all my courses are quantitative and I have A's in lin alg, matlab lin alg class, calc iii, all physics, and prob+stats. My bad grades come from research/design/required elective classes, so my GPA ends up being mid 3.6ish.

I also have no C++ class.

So now, will I still be able to get into top MFE (baruch, haas, columbia etc)?

are you serious?

Actually, calculus based probability is the most important class, followed by Calc 1, 2, 3.

You don't use differential equations until much later on (e.g. transforming Stochastic Differential Equations into ODEs / PDEs), and only to a limited extent, compared to probability. Same goes for linear algebra.

Many school also offers a spot just for things like this ("tell us where you screwed up and why").

So don't stress over it.
