How to know which schools are the top feeders into IB?

How can people know if one school places better or worse than another school?

Do you have to search for IB people and click profiles on LinkedIn to see what school the people went to? Or is this just something you can generally get an idea of once you start working full time?

For NYC - usually Penn, Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Georgetown, UMich and UVA (not necessarily in that order) that have the most alumni at most firms

No. Find company on LinkedIn like GS -> People Tab -> Filter by geography and title like New York City Area + Investment Banking

There’s a table that shows the schools where most people come from

There are very comprehensive lists on here. Search "Undergraduate Target Schools Tier List (2021 Updates)" imo that's the best thread

It's typically what you'd expect - the Ivies and other elite schools do well. Where it gets interesting is there are a handful of lower-ranked schools that place well above their weight (usually the ones investing into finance societies/clubs), but there's also a few highly ranked schools with little finance interest from the student body that do not do as well (CMU for one)

As far non-targets go, the spot to be right now is Maryland. Those terp f**ks have had some crazy placements - word on the street they just sent a few terpies to PJT RSSG, Evercore, and CVP. Best in the Big 10 by far, would love some input as to if all the hype is real
