Importance of MBA in India PE

I joined an MF PE fund's India office last year as an associate. Due to personal reasons, not keen on doing an MBA. If I get the opportunity to continue in a partner track role at my fund or some other fund without an MBA, will it pose any difficulties for me in recruiting for another fund in the future? Basically wanted to get a sense of how important an MBA is to progress in PE in India.

Also, would be great if anyone could share any information on which PE firms in India are known to be not too particular about an MBA or those which are known to be particular (I have heard General Atlantic is not and Warburg Pincus is, for example).
