Is it worth to go to Warwick?

Hi to everyone!
Recently I've got an offer from Warwick Business School for MSc in Finance and Information Technology. It is a new programme.
Does anyone know about this programme? Is it a target one? I am hesitating accepting an offer and need your advice.

Thank you in advance.

I am not familiar with that specific program, but Warwick's placement in general is pretty good. There are many kids from Warwick going into banks in London every year in various departments so I guess that it won't handicap your applications.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

Why IT? Why not MBA or just straight msc finance?

Maybe because pure finance isn't the be all of everybody... that, or the MSc Finance course was too competitive.

I have a friend at Warwick Finance Msc. At of now, about 40% of the class have job offers and the number is lower for international, just so you know.

Warwick's placement is pretty good in London, I don't know anything about this specific program though. However, I guess it will open plenty of doors and if you're interested in that kind of stuff, go ahead. Btw, here's the Excel of London summer bankers that is circulating on Facebook: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjQoockghngIdGlGbEFtbGduNn… ^Large amount of Warwick kids

Not sure about Warwick. Never heard of it. The only schools I would attend in the UK with the economy the way it is in Europe right now are LSE & maybe Oxford & Cambridge.

That's as if you said:

"Not sure about Duke. Never heard of it. The only schools I would attend in the US with the economy the way it is right now are Wharton & maybe Harvard & Yale."

Sounds really douchey...

Sorry I was not trying to be offensive but I have not heard of Wawrick. I do not know much about UK schools barring LSE & Oxbridge but all I know is they are very expensive and college debt is a major problem in the UK

I didn't go to Warwick so no offense taken...just wanted to point out that it is a very well respected school in the UK. Concerning the tuition, yes, the UK schools are expensive compared to other European schools but the price tag is ridiculously low compared to the US schools...

If you don't know much, why are you chiming in?

I don't have enough work experience for attending MBA. Initially I applied for MSc Finance, but admissions committe recommend me to this programme because of my technical background. I haven't heard anything about MSc Finance and Information Technology before, so I find it hard to take a decision.

My honest advice would be to go and see a couple of professors there with backgrounds in areas you want to pursue and get their view on which is more optimal.

FYI I am a masters graduate from Warwick and I can assure you they are very helpful.

Ps. Warwick places just as well as any other top university in the uk. You can ignore the non uk people above.
