MBA Consultants?
Currently at an UMM fund and decided that I want to apply to business school in the next cycle targeting, HBS, GSB, and Wharton. Wanted to crowdsource to see the merits of MBA consultants, ones you would recommend, and ones to stay away from.

I used a Leland coach and had a really good experience with them. Full disclosure, I now occasionally coach on Leland myself for some career categories, but not for MBA applications.
Did you use someone who was admissions consultant that charge ($300+/hr) or recent MBA graduates who price themselves more reasonably from Leland?
I used a more recent MBA grad that was reasonably priced and that had several positive reviews. I didn't have a ton of money to burn and didn't have my heart set on Harvard/Stanford.
Like everything in life it depends
if you have access to alumni and other successful friends or parents then my take is ‘no‘ don’t use them. I found they can often water down the personality of the essays and do more harm than good
you are better to write a lower quality essay that oozes character than some polished essay
thats just my take tho
On the other hand if your from a nonprofit background and have never met a Stanford mba then there’s probably some value to it , having them show you how it’s done
Scott @ Personal MBA Coach got me multiple full rides - granted, I had a strong profile, but he knows his stuff
How involved was he on your essays?
