MBA or MFin for PE?
Hi all,
For many reasons I’ve decided I need an masters to transition out of my current role. I have 3 years of experience. Eventually, I would like to end up in PE.
However, I’ve heard that it’s hard to transition to PE post MBA, even if you do MBA> IB > PE. Is that true? Is it the same in UK/EU, where I am based?
Additionally, I wonder if doing an MFin makes more sense to make the IB> PE switch easier (as I would come in at a lower level). I don’t mind doing this, but do MFins discriminate against those with more than 2 years of experience ?
Please help! Thanks.
3 YOE in what?
MBA > MSF - almost always
In trading - does the advice still hold? Thanks!
Don’t even consider MSF programs (from someone who went through an MSF program). Take the MBA route. Just my two cents though
Thanks for responding! May I ask why?
