Met an HBS alumnae today

There really isn't much point to this post, but I just wanted to sing the praises of Harvard Business School.

So, I was at a picnic today put on by my best friend, who is a successful mortgage banker. Since I've been pursuing a gig in real estate development (I'm currently in CRE finance), my buddy introduced me to this girl who works at a well known multifamily developer in the area (and whose father is an independent real estate developer). She was a pretty good looking blonde, but certainly not a model. Nevertheless, we were talking and I found her to be utterly brilliant. One of the most intelligent people--who am I kidding? Clearly the most intelligent person--I've ever met at an informal setting. After 5 minutes, I found myself insanely attracted to her. She's single and I got her information, in case you were wondering (ok, I got her business card--FML).

Anyway, I come to find out later that day from my friend that she has an MBA from Harvard. When I met her, I had no preconceived notions about her and she never mentioned her credential even though I brought up Harvard in our conversation. Just wanted to say that if this lady is indicative of HBS caliber people, then HBS has my endorsement.

keep us posted... she seems great- personality, looks, smarts, etc. give it a shot and what the heck! how do you know she's single though? that's an awkward question to ask someone, especially a cute girl...

It's not hard.

e.g. "Yeah I work really long hours (blah blah)" "Wow, your boyfriend must hate that."

If she has a boyfriend or she's not interested, she won't correct you.

Philosopher:
I paid for lunch with a young HBS grad last year because he forgot his wallet at the gym. We have seen each other at least 5 times since then and he never paid me back or even mentioned it.

You should feel priviliged to have paid for the lunch of an HBS grad...

Devils Advocate:
So shes pretty, smart, and has a great personality?

You do realize she's probably crazy then.

I went on birthright (the israel trip) with a guy who was very friendly and very modest/down to earth. he also seemed to be very intelligent from the time i spent with him. i spoke with him a couple years after the trip and he had ended up going to hbs. he had pretty good things to say about the experience, although if there were negatives i doubt he would bash hbs to an outsider.
